　　1967年，Lenneberg通过对儿童语言障碍的研究提出在语言学习的过程当中存在着一段时间（大约10岁前），在该段时间内，语言的习得最为容易，而超

　　过这段时间，语言的习得能力就会受到限制。在此之后几十年的时间里，人们针对这一假说进行了大量的研究，支持者与反对者都不乏其人，时至今日也尚无定论。因此，“语言学习的关键期”理论仍然还是一个未经验证的假设，而且，这一关键期主要是指母语的习得而言，用在外语学习上未必合适。

　　许多人认为儿童要比青少年或成年人具有更多的学习外语的优势。早在10年前，我国著名的英语教育专家桂诗春教授就明确指出这种看法是不能成立的。儿童具有模仿力强、听觉敏锐、心理障碍较少的特点，这是青少年和*所不能比的，但是不能因此而过分地夸大儿童在外语学习方面的优势。与儿童相比，青少年的智力较发达、记忆力较强，而成年人具有较强的学习动机和学习持久性、较高的语言规则归纳能力，这都是外语学习所必需，也是儿童所不及的。大量的研究表明，除了语音之外，儿童在外语学习方面与青少年和*相比，并无任何优势可言。

　　不能降低小学英语师资的标准

　　小学英语处在英语学习的初级阶段，一旦学生学*，将会影响到学生今后一生的英语学习。因此，合格的师资对于小学英语教学尤为重要。从目前的实际情况来看，我国小学英语师资还存在很大的缺口。

　　令人担心的是，为了弥补小学英语师资的不足，某些地方的教育主管部门会从目前正在从事其他课程教学的教师中抽出一部分教师来改行教英语。这些教师的绝大多数都不具备小学英语师资的基本条件，如果不经过必要的培训就匆忙上阵，教学效果令人担忧。因此，我们主张在小学英语师资的配备上应该遵循宁缺勿滥的原则，在师资培训方面多下功夫，切实保证小学英语师资的质量，从而从根本上保证小学英语教学的质量。

　　重视英语教学，但不要忽视汉语和*文化教育

　　*人从来没有像今天这样重视英语的学习，这无疑是一件好事情，但是这样的环境很容易给人，尤其是小学生（包括许多家长在内），造成一种错觉，认为英语比汉语还重要，从而忽视汉语的学习。小学生的汉语水*也处在一个发展的过程之中，如何处理好英语与汉语之间的关系是小学英语教学需要认真考虑的问题。

　　在学生学习英语的过程当中势必要接触英语国家的文化。但是，我们在重视外国文化的同时，却很容易忽视*文化。在我国目前广泛使用的各种英语教材中，与*文化相关的课文内容微乎其微。由此而产生的后果是显而易见的`，对于*的英语学习者来说，英语学习的重要目的之一是使用英语传播中华民族的优秀文化，而许多的英语学习者在通过了四级、六级考试甚至英语专业毕业之后，都不知道“孔子”在英语中应该怎么说，《红楼梦》、《水浒传》、《三国演义》、《聊斋志异》等*古典文学名著在英语中该怎样翻译。小学生的价值观与道德观都处在形成的过程之中，他们思想活跃，易于接受新鲜事物，但是又缺乏一定的鉴别能力，在学习异国文化的过程当中，如果不善加引导，他们很容易盲目地接受西方文化中的价值观、道德观和行为规范，很容易忘记甚至疏远自己民族的文化传统。

　　已故著名英语教育家许国璋教授曾指出“小学生专注外语，通盘的文化基础自然削弱。”在目前的情况下，这一担心仍然值得我们关注。我国许多老一辈的专家学者的成功除了得益于较高的外语水*之外，更主要的是在于他们对于*文化的深刻把握与理解，像钱钟书、季羡林、许国璋等等，莫不如此。

　　小学英语教学要充分考虑儿童的心理特点，培养学生学习英语的兴趣，使学生能够在轻松活泼的气氛中学到英语。因此，小学英语教师创造了丰富多彩、形式多样的教学活动，例如唱英语歌曲、学英语儿歌、跳舞等，这些都起到了很好的教学效果。

　　但是，英语教学的目的在于提高学生综合运用英语的能力，跳跳唱唱只是手段，而不是目的。不能在英语教学中为了唱歌而学唱歌，为了表演而学表演。我们已经注意到，在一些小学英语教学中，一些教师过分的强调了跳跳唱唱的作用，把唱歌跳舞当成了主要的英语教学活动，学生在课堂上学的是英语歌曲，课后的作业也是歌曲。这样不符合儿童的心理特点，也不符合英语学习的规律。因此，一名好的英语教师应该从学生的实际情况和提高学生综合运用英语能力的目标出发，而不是千篇一律地照搬照抄。英语教学应该注意实效，不要过多地搞一些形式化的东西。

　　我爸妈特别重视英语这门学科，他们总是在我耳边唠叨：“你啊，要好好学英语，我们小时候条件不好，学不了英语，现在你条件好了，要好好珍惜才行啊！”我每次听了这话后，心里总会想：英语真有这么重要吗？直到上了小学一年级，我才明白了英语的重要性。

　　在我上小学一年级时，第一节英语课上英语老师花了大半节课来给我们讲英语的重要性，说什么“现在英语全国各地都在学”，“你们要是学不好英语以后想出国去玩都不会与人沟通”等等之类的话，从而让我对学好英语下了很大的决心，于是，我的英语成绩一直名列前茅。

　　记得有一次英语课上，老师教我们读一个很长的英语句子，只见英语老师在上面叽里呱啦的说着些英语，当时全班懵完了，几秒钟之后才反应过来。老师看见我们这一脸懵呆的表情，就一个单词一个单词地教了起来，我们读得很认真，老师见我们把每个单词都读熟了，就把单词连起来读，就这样，我们学会了那个句子。

　　学了这么久的英语，我也对英语有了很大的"感悟：英语也像中文，从易到难，只有努力刻苦，你才能学好英语。

The kites fly very high. In summer, the trees are green and the grass is green too.It is green everywhere on the hills. There are so many wild apple trees on the hills. The wild apples are nice to eat. In autumn the corns under and around the hills are ripe so we conies almost every day. In winter when it snows all the ground is covered with snow. We can play with snows and sometimes we eat the clean snow with sugar.

　　In my hometown the sky is blue, the air is clean, the water is sweet and the people are very friendly. I love my hometown!

　　How to Solve the Problem of Heavy Traffic

　　Nowadays, China‘s cities are getting increasingly crowded. The rapid increase in population is being made worse by the steady influx of people from the rural areas seeking employment. As a result, heavy traffic is a big headache, with all the roads packed with cars, bicycles and pedestrians.

　　In my opinion, there are two ways to solve the problem. One is to build more and wider roads to make the public highways less crowded and speed up the flow of traffic. The other is to expand the number of public bus routes, so that more people can be transported and fewer people will have to travel by car or bicycle.

　　However, each of these solutions brings problems with it. The former may occupy too much land that could be used for farms or houses; the latter may cause inconvenience for long periods in bus lines. I think the best answer to the problem of heavy traffic is a combination of the two: build more roads in places where land is less useful, and at the same time increase the number of public bus routes.
